Join us for our Trailblazer Breakfast and hear Tom Easterday, Senior Executive Vice President of Subaru of Indiana, share Sustainability at SIA: Protecting Our Environment through Innovation. Tom was named 2017 Indiana Business Leader of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and has been speaking at conferences across North America about SIA’s environmental stewardship activities.
In 2004, Subaru of Indiana became the first manufacturing facility in the United States to reach zero-landfill status and all Subaru vehicles are built in zero-landfill plants, where manufacturing waste is either recycled or turned into electricity not making its way into landfills.
While keeping its own operations clean and green, Subaru has also been teaching other companies how to get to zero landfill in their businesses, with companies such as Whole Foods, Raytheon, and others taking advantage of Subaru’s B2B zero landfill training (which it supplies at no charge!). In 2015, Subaru partnered with the National Parks Foundation to bring zero landfill practices to Yosemite, Grand Teton and Denali National Parks.
The breakfast is free, but a reservation is required.
